That will depend on the card issuer. I believe MasterCard and Visa themselves don't charge a fee. However, policies differ between card issuers in different countries and even within the same country - banks and other card issuers. Some do charge.

Policies also differ on what is shown on your statement. Sometimes the fee is clearly broken out. Others will just show a foreign currency amount and your home currency amount and the fee forms part of that.

Best to check with the card issuer what their policy is. Not visa or MC
