A new old biddy has moved into the village.
Her English is understandable, but in her naivety she did not realise I understand spoken Thai. Cannot speak it fluently, the tone problem.
Have worked with Thai for many years and know when they drink alcohol, which on the whole they have little genetic resistance to, they get quickly drunk and go red.
Well the first time she said in Thai, to my friend, I was drunk, red in the face.
I let it go.
Second time, I asked her why she had darker skin than me. No not a racist comment, but fact, people in hot climates have darker skin.
I showed her the underside of my arms, which are snow white, compared to the parts exposed to a little sun for twenty years.
Third time I asked her if she had any medical knowledge, was she saving my soul, or what the hell did it matter to her!
The fact is in 35 degrees plus , my genetic body is not designed to cope, but needs to cool. Sweat, yes but not profusely, blood veins surface , become red to cool.
All white people tend to go reddish when overheated.
Well today I had had enough and told her I would take her to England in the winter and see how long it took her to acclimatise or die!
Soon be blanket time in Thailand, temperature might drop to 10 degrees!
People will die of cold!
