What do you mean I must be talking about myself? That's outrageous!! Anyway - is this a troll, or just hilarious? It is the kind of thing that I would do: i100.independent.co.uk/article/if-theres-a-better-way-to-troll-someone-than-this-we-dont-want-to-know--bkobeIGkIx?cmpid=facebook-post "Dave Trott is an advertising executive turned blogger and author with 40 years experience in the business. In 2010 he wrote [Creative Mischief]1, a collection of highlights and musings from his career. One of those anecdotes is being widely shared right now, as a perfect example of how to troll someone like a boss." You'll need to open the link to read what he did. Excellent stuff - excellent.

So what is a troll?
I have a confession to make.
I am not a troll.
But when I do decide to troll - I'm masterful at it. I'd go as far as to say that I'm world class.

So, what was your reaction when I said that at times I'm a world class troll? did you laugh? or did your blood pressure shoot up?
Part of the art of trolling is knowing that fine line where some people know you are taking the p*ss - and knowing that other people will take a meltdown. While some folk are going nuts - others read the same thread and are on their knees laughing.

You'd think that trolls were a new invention - they are only the modern incarnation of the "wind-up," merchant. Each and every one of us either knows a "wind-up merchant," or has is/has been in the past.
So there's no point crying foul - thee without guilt, cast the first stone.
Any takers?

But trolls know there's a line between getting under someone's skin and being abusive. This forum is tame - and that's the way we want it to be - but even here there have been some "dummy spitting," sessions. What causes the worst of them is when you hit someone on their weakspot. I'm not getting into particular examples - let sleeping beggars lie. Weakspots are a result of the lies that we tell ourselves - and just about all of us tell ourselves lies of some sort. I suppose it's necessary for mental equilibrium. I was talking to a well-known forum member and mentioned that I had a book in mind called "The Deludopath." He replied that he knew exactly who I could base the book on. Ya'll know the individual I'm talking about - and he has never been a member of this forum so lets not start that hare running. In as much as I agree that the guy he is talking about - if his true story was ever told you'd be staggered - is a prime candidate for "The Deludopath," - I'm not stuck for choice. It's the lies we tell ourselves, you see - that always do us in.

There's not a regular forum user that isn't guilty of trolling. Its just the nasty trolls that I don't enjoy reading. Subtlety is the key.

Buhi mentioned here a few months ago that he had trolled me - I hadn't noticed. Which is a waste of a good troll. I can't remember the exact topic of the thread, it was a very long time ago, but trolling was part of it. It was one of my earliest posts on TV. I read the Farang Pub, but did not comment as I was part of another, now defunct forum. Blether knew nothing of me then, I am sure he would not fall for it now, but he took the bait. I immediately replied I was trolling and it was a joke. A poor one it seems. The joy of a smaller forum, such as Mango, we know the writers to a degree; Blether is mostly serious and I enjoy his posts and the interesting links he provides. I make no excuse for my mood swings and sometimes having had a wee too much to drink. Then reading a post I had sent and thinking you drunken a..., note to self, do not post post under the influence. I think most readers here can tell when I am being serious, sardonic, or just playing with words. I stated it before, "Go with the flow," thus with me that is what you get.

Yeah, I will take some of that. Troll, what about those of us who do no more than hang up a mirror, that the self deluded poster doesnt recognize? Over on another forum some self deluded type saw fit to have a pop at me (he knows eff all about me, we have never met), all he was doing was reinforcing his own insecurities, whilst at the same time making himself look even dafter than he really is, you really cant help these charity cases. Woe betide you if you even speak Thai, this from a clown who cant understand why he cant get Thai citinzenship, despite being unable to string a sentence together in Thai, never mind, him hansam man, Effs sake .

In this heat and humidity, I really cant understand why any farang would be throwing or lumping heavy weights around, isnt that the domain of beasts of burden or imported labour?
Jezz, here in Bkk they only cost me 300 baht per day, do you really think I am going to throw my back out for such a pittance?

I cannot look after my garden anymore, although it was my passion. I pay 300Baht for two or three hours work. If I need repairs, to anything, I always pay above the normal rate. I get instant service. I know that is morally wrong, that I am getting preferential treatment, but that is the way of the world and I am not exploiting anyone! Who are "beasts of burden?" certainly not anyone I employ! They are friends, equals, but just do not have as much money as me!
