Sell, hold, sell half or wait? Thai answer: "Yes" Must have been be a nice feeling to see a near 20% gain yesterday though Not a share I follow or hold myself, so can't say much. At this price level it's not one I would buy into and would look more into research sites as a starting point like: www.hl.co.uk/shares/shares-search-results/s/sabmiller-plc-ordinary-us-$0.10www.digitallook.com/equity/SABMillerNext price moves will centre around the possible bid and rumours, which is always going to be unpredictable. If in your shoes I'd go back to first principles of: - why are you holding it? what were your objectives at purchase? has it met them? what did you pay for it? etc - looking forward has all that now changed? If I was holding it and this gave a chance to realise a nice profit I'd be tempted to sell at least part as the middle path and hedging your bets. Last one I had in this type of situation was AZN. I sold part and took part profits. Always the risk that I could have made even more, but then again if a bid fails to materialise or just fails as it did in AZN's case it pulls back. Also depends on your personality to an extent as well. I like the idea of taking part profits. I can always rationalise if it goes higher that I made money and took risk off the table with a decision that had a reasonable outcome. On the other hand if I take nothing and it pulls back... Remembering that no-one calls the tops and bottoms exactly and "no-one ever became poor by taking profits" as they say making at least something would suit me.

Fletch bought it a few years ago about 20 quid per share, yesterday it was about 36, so have almost doubled my money.
Would I buy it at todays price, NO.
The problem is, if I sell half, where to put the money.
I have been stuck in a quandary for the last 3 months about where to park money I had amassed, selling will only add to the dilemma.
