I agree with that completely.
Some films scream out to have a sequel made but Blues Brothers was not one of those.
A classic should stand alone and be left alone.

The worst sequel that I have ever seen was 'High Noon, Part II' staring Lee Majors www.imdb.com/title/tt0080870/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_92.

Another one that gets my goat is when you have a classic re-released with new content.

As I had not seen the Blues Brothers for a long time I decided to download and watch it again about 2 weeks ago.
However, there were added parts that were not in the original release.
These were whole scenes that were dropped from the original classic because the director (John Landis) did not think that they were fit for the movie, so why put them back in now?

Directors Cuts I believe they are called, the cynic in me thinks its just another excuse to squeeze a few extra $$$$$.

Blade Runner re released with a differnt ending.

Apocalypse Now re released with a whoole scene that was nothing but people talking round a table.

Doubt if I will ever see The Keep re released in its full 3 hours glory.

Director's cuts are exactly what they are.
The director cut them from the film because they where either shite or irrelevant to the film/storyline.
To add those parts afterwards is equivalent to buying up all of the fruit that the man from Del Monte said no to or buying the fish that John West rejected.
