Well one of the funniest and most amusing writers I have ever read is Damon Runyon. His thumbnail sketches of the characters are wonderful and they come to life as you read his words. Paul Jennings, all this discussion about writers I know what to get my son for his birthday. A set of Paul Jenning's books. Along with the airwheels. Thanks all. An excellent writer, always had one of his books in my bag when teaching. End the school day with one of his stories. They hit that silly risque mark, that children love. "Wonder Underpants" always emoted tittles. The pleasure of this thread is remembering authors, revisiting them and enjoying. The frustration is that I can never reach the heights in any genre already achieved by great artists. Paul Jennings a good choice. |

I had quit writing earlier this year but this thread has motivated me to start again.
