Isn't the rugby on soon?  ! This is a better sport - watching people squirm due to self-inflicted wounds. .................................................... To think of the delight when he found the smoking gun! It made his day - a chance to launch a personal attack! Condescension and vitriol poured forth, A geyser of contempt! Alas, Our valiant warrior wandered into the battle, Blinded by self-righteousness, And fell upon the sword Of his own stupidity. ................................................... I was not trolling, although it would seem I did by accident.
I do not like threats of violence, even on a blog, whatever it was about knocking teeth out, poor form.
Early in this thread I expressed my thanks to the participants.
I might have an inflated ego, but most tell me the opposite, that I am too considerate. I think that is something I am proud of.
Money, I hope I never mention it (did just then). You certainly do not choose to teach, lecture for money.
Back in time I had a life changing decision to make; to continue in theatre or quit and teach.
My partner, soon to be my first wife , was a drama student. She chose to teach.
It would have seperated us if I had accepted the post of assistant director.
The romance of theatre is indeed fiction; work all day and night; if lucky a few hours sleep.Rarely home, crash out in the theatre, "The Show Must Go On".
The only people you can socialise with are theatre people, the schedule is that demanding.
Forget the film stars, although they too have these long hours, unless super stars.
I remember working with Ronnie Barker; he had lost his voice and we were rehearsing well into the early morning hours. He would not quit until he had it right. We attatched a microphone to his throat enabling him to whisper his lines to save his voice. Big mistake; he used it to create crazy sounds and off script ad libbing. By three in the morning we switched him off.
Next day a delightful hand made card from him apologising.
Great thespian.

I've got one question for you blether. Do you think it's acceptable to solicit personal info from anyone and turn it into a book? Whether this has been done as a 'friends talk' in a pub is that okay?
Hence the allegations. You are making money out of this and boasting about it and writing and involving real life people. Simpy wrong. Rob is good people, he has a blog, him leaving here was sad. Many myself included don't want this type of intrusive, invasive rape. I'll call it rape as no other good term comes to mind. You wrote a book based on his life. Fact.
