Be honest or don't participate. I had a birthday weekend so I indulged in champers, white vino last night. A once in a year thing really. A hell of a lot of fun but something that has never been a stalwart. Skinny dipping in the pool was fun though after everyone left  . I was in the whole fun scene in HK long time ago, now it's just no big deal. So I confess, I'm not a drinker. My threshold for alcohol is not very high. I do have friends who look like hags, the sort who are seriously unhappy with whatever life they have chosen and use alcohol as a means of escape. You really can see it in their face. Old before their age and no amount of botox or whatever is going to fix the ravages of that. If I have offended anyone on here then I apologise for the misunderstanding. A two dayer was enough for me. I threw up twice in the loo last night. Just being honest. Three glasses of champers and about the same of white vino.

I am an alcoholic ; first step is admittance.
I always worked and NEVER drank at work.Now I drink as I please and care not.
Everything is in place if I die .
My last psychiatrist told me I drink to sleep, but no way would she give me sleeping pills.
A Thai doctor did; I threw them away! |

I'm an alcoholic too allegedly, I didn't think I was until everyone viewed me as one.
Don't drink as much as I used to though 10.8 units minimum a day at the moment.
Might try and cut that down by 2.7 units a quarter.
Then again might not. Can't even imagine a holiday without a drink, whats the point?

I was a borderline alcoholic at one time, a friend who was an AA member reeled me in. Everything he told me, everything he taught me, has stuck with me.
I've considered quitting in the last couple of years, then decided there's no need to - I just need to modify how I drink. These days I can go for months without drinking, but when I'm ready, I'm ready for it.
A few guys have been involved in legendary sessions with me - truth be told the average guy shouldn't get involved, unless the average guy fancies drinking a couple of bottles of whisky and a few beers.
On the whole, I've loved my drinking life - and I don't want to give it up. I'm going out tonight and that will involve about eight pints of cider, and a bottle of wine. That will get me a tad tipsy, double it and drunkenness would start to kick in. TBH, I think eight pints and a bottle of wine are enough - I don't crave drunkenness anymore.

Hippity, stay away from spirits.Not the ghostly ones.
Unfortunately in Thailand, quite good spirits are very cheap compared to beer.
If one drink leads to another and another, a whole litre of spirits will soon be downed; beer fills the stomach and is far easier to control.
Wine is just too expensive in Thailand, alas.
