I also remember coming home in the late afternoon where it was dark because of the changes in the clocks. There was extra light in the morning before school and before it was needed by us but less light in the afternoons/ evenings when it was needed. Street lamps that can be turned on and off at the right time are probably a better answer

It also makes it miserable for old folk living alone when it "goes dark early" making communities less sociable in the evenings. Unfortunately most people's employers also don't change their hours to fit in with the revised daylight times. No doubt if someone researched it probably increases the suicide rates when it goes dark early.

That said these days being in Thailand it's all history. I would prefer they didn't mess around though though, and particularly with my football
