A nice wee article on BKK traffic from an LA Times correspondent - www.latimes.com/travel/la-tr-d-thailand-main-20151108-story.html When it comes to traffic, Los Angeles and Bangkok have something in common: constant gridlock. But that's where the comparison ends. In L.A., snarled traffic evokes swear words, rude hand gestures and occasional cases of road rage. In Bangkok, where more than 90% of the population practices Buddhism, people generally don't honk horns, shout or stress out. Instead, they smile and practice the art of patience. Call it karma. Call it the road to spiritual bliss. Whatever, it's a happy change of pace. When I visited in October, I felt serene just watching all that serenity unfold around me in the middle of a traffic jam................continues

Personally I have to disagree with the L.A. post .
Having been speaking to Tony The Friken Tiger when he is driving in traffic I assure all is not love and peace and kind words.
Many a comment about onanism, female sex organs as well as a rectum comment or two. Then of course there are comments concerning the lack of marriage lines and birthright coupled with disputable parentage, also the lack of moral fibre when at a u turn concerning other drivers too.

Has the correspondent ever driven on Bkk roads?
I doubt it, heck people have been know to pull guns out and shoot at people.
What was the name of the doctor beaten up in a carpark in Bkk a few years back? A case that shocked the country.
Following on from the above, buffalos also are mentioned frequently, phrases such as, ai samong ai kwai are often heard when I am driving.
My mrs says some of these idiots should stick to, kee kwai(driving a buffalo), in many aspects, the buffalos are smarter than many road users.

There is also the problem at night when we are in Amphur Sangkha in our village and decide to drive somewhere.
One often meets large slow moving dark coloured unlit ELEPAHNTS being walked either to or from work as well as the local buffalo herder moving his or her livestock to pastures new..
