Is it true that, as a class, psychotherapists and other mental health care professionals are crazier than average? And that despite their training and experience, they can recognize their own issues less readily than the average nutcase?

I think that you do need a streak of craziness in you to deal with craziness.
Let's face a big fact here, Sigmund Freud is the definitive source when it comes to dealing with nut jobs but he was absolutely off his trolley.
I believe that understanding starts at home, Stephen Fry knows and understands more about being Bi-polar than I ever will.

My Mum always said that the district psychiatric nurse was unable to see that her son was needing help.
The guy ended up sectioned as a young adult - so I vote yes. They are a bit nuts and they can't see it in themselves.
