Surprisingly enough Ozland has the most flies of anywhere I've been in the world. Big blowies, house flies, green flies, any fly you want to be bothered by, go to Oz, HK and the mainland is sparse on flies, not sure why that is.
Maybe the pollution killed them off in many places.

Yeah but not on food like SE Asia. And only in warmer months.

Back in 2010 i was working with a local Macanese construction company on the Cotai strip. Well, the guys there would take me out for canto food and drink , it was awesome. One of the dishes was goose stuffed with rice, whole garlic and chestnuts , along with "soi yue" ~ chicken and turtle stew, real canto recipies in spit the bones on the table restaurants. And the freezing Tsing Tao beer. Alas these joints are disapearing now with gentrification. I never saw these dishes in HK , real country food is getting hard to find. Cosmo crap everywhere now.Chewing away on a bit of turtle shell, oh the memories.

These pictures reminds me of the duck and chicken shops that used to line the road from Sai Ying Pun to Kennedy Town. I will never forget the shock of seeing rows of shops with rows of flattened ducks and chickens hanging up. They reminded me of Frisbies.

When I posted I thought some people would like to do that with a tv duck but you are all more interested in your stomachs I found in Turkey the solution of where to eat kebab. Local shops sold quicly so te fires were allways going and flies will not go onto the cooking meat. Tourist shops which look a little cleaner and are a lot more expensive sell less so their doner got stopped quite a lot. To prevent flies landing on the kebab the shopkeepers kept a spray can of mortein under the counter....I guess hong kong does the same.

Loved chopping up the armadillo then making a curry out of it....just grab a bit of shell and pull the meat off of it. Like lean pork....quite gamey...absolutely delicious and very fat free.
