ffs - priorities right, much? An appeal to save the life of a three-legged dog rescued from Thailand's meat industry has raised more than £10,000. The Save Mishka appeal was started by University of Kent student Natalia Markovna, who adopted the German Shepherd crossbreed from the Soi Dog Foundation in June. . A range of health problems, including a loose hip plate after he was hit by a car in Thailand, and an allergic reaction to antibiotics, left the student facing veterinary bills of £9,500, even after maxing all of her credit cards, to keep her new dog alive. Ridiculous, what a waste of money and it’s most likely that Natalia Markovna wouldn’t spare a ‘cup of tea’ for a homeless human. I know that there will be dog lovers on this forum and I have no intention of sounding cruel here but is a dog on the other side of the world that you have never seen worth going into serious debt for? Working on the Jameson scale I was able to assert the following solution to the dilemma of what to with money that you haven’t yet earned but will cripple your future plans in life. GBP 10,000 = 454 bottles of Jamesons and GBP 12 back in change. GBP 10,000 = 1 mangy mutt with fleas who will probably maul your first born. No contest.

Reminds me of that old joke with a punchline something like: Why's it only got 3 legs? Well for a dog like that you don't eat it all at once

My To Do List
1. Apply for position at uni
2. Apply for student loan
3. Quit uni and have a holiday in Thailand
4. Adopt a dog that somebody else was taking care of anyway
5. Spend uni loan on dog and raise funds to get money back
6. Extend visa for 7 days
7. Give money to some caring Thai person who will take care of the dog and arrange for it's transportation to the UK or maybe get in touch with Sharky for advice...not sure yet
8. Get a bus to the airport
9. Return home with no money, no dog and no degree, log into facebook and find out dog has been barbecued at a village party

So, if a 3 legged dog is GBP 10,000, how much is a 2 legged dog?

Right now in Isaan there is a man cutting one leg off dogs, selling the legs for meat at the local market and then selling the three legged dog to some wishy washy liberal farang for 10k. Somchai has got his act together, the so called civilized world should beware .
