The bridge connecting to the MRT is an improvement but Makkasan is a pain compared to Phaya Thai. What annoyed me further was being asked to open my suitcase by MRT security.
Blank refusal by me - ratty after the flight and not up for an inspection to board a train I about turned and headed for a taxi.
"Meestah -come back. Forget about bag check - just take train," said security. So that's a wee flaw in the system right there.

Any MRT station they have does 'magic' gates which go BEEP! when you pass. Since the Erawan bomb also BTS has a check just passed the gates. Very inconsistent checking though.

How's this for a security flaw...
Swampy, was sitting against the glass wall on the departure level, the same glass wall that has the escalators. This guy (Asian) , walks up next to us and starts looking around, then puts his suitcase down next to us and then heads straight for the escalator leaving his suitcase.
I looked at my wife, she said let's go quick.
I'm looking for the nearest security guard, find a guy wearing a security type outfit with a fluoro vest, told him what just happened, he says go see security, back past the suitcase, and he walks off. I'm thinking this is a joke, no way I'm going back past this suitcase. So I walk to a desk with some girls selling phones or SIM cards and tell them. One girl said huh? I said look, that bags just been dumped. She calls security. So 2 guys on those segways come over and both stand there looking at it, hundreds of people just keep walking past unaware. Anyway after fifteen minutes security grab this case and leave with it. Dodgy Dodgy.
