^^^^ Turning into a HiSo area these days, land prices are something else.
Girl I know who works up on soi 20 has just been laid off along with about 20 others, landlord upped the rent, Japanese factory owner said no can do, Merry X-mas, heres your bonus, you are now on the dole.
Further up the soi, a plot of about 50 market stalls lies empty, no one can afford the rents being asked.

More than one year employment should get 3 months paid if the company goes broke or they lay off.

^^^ you are correct, the Thais have very good workers rights laws.
Girl has been told she will have to relocate to Japanese town in Ekamamai, and start again, problems arise with her accomodation and kids schooling.

Even out at Udomsuk rents are around 15k a month for a one bed near the BTS....the property boom is changing Bangkok forever it seems.
I think it's mostly due to property passing down the generations and the kids want fast readies...and who could blame them?

bah bloody humbug ! in line with the rest of the conversation, there was talk before i left back in July of a Makro being built in the plot of land between 44 and 42. can't believe the Londoner still isn't up and running. still being back here in London does have some good things about it. going out for lunch today on top of Harrow on the hill to a hidden haunt of mine for a traditional roast, besides a log fire with plenty of free flowing warm ale. at least some parts of the capital remain the way they have been and should be rather than selling out to American franchises, hey smokes ?

Smokes, fully booked up now til the middle of Jan, family commitments and seasonal freeloaders from overseas.
You are more than welcome to join me for a camping holiday New Year, Khao Kord, Khao Yai, followed by Nakon Nayok.
Do you know how to put up a tent?
I usually just stand there like a spare prick giving orders.
I blame Fletch for this, I mean what does he do all day, sit in a nice comfy aircon office and perv hotties all day?
