I also think having over twenty news threads popping up in the new threads is annoying. Freakdoor curtailed it because some guy who was a complete news bot posted up so many threads people got sick of scrolling down. There's no ignore option here.
I'm not against news but just links and cut and pastes, the OP can give his or her opinion on the stories would be good.

But we were specificly told how to post and limited discussion in the post introducing the changes. As far as I am concerned this is just spam without the discussion. We had 60 active readers this month. I think with this we will have less.

I think everyone makes fair points and I suppose time will tell. Its all trial and error and trial again.

It was pointed out that while we would cover major breaking news stories such as the Erawan Bombing, we wouldn't be following it up with the speculative threads which are no more than clickbait elsewhere. Post what you want in response to the news threads. And it is clear already that members are commenting on news threads of interest, including you.

Feel free to keep it that way as we want you to enjoy and post in the areas of the forum you enjoy. Some enjoy News others the Pub atmosphere so we are catering to both. Everything is subject to change and we will review things after some time of course. Have a wonderful day....I know I will....sun is out and the beer is flowing!

I expect resistance to change and always some being unhappy with any changes which occur...but as I said if you don't want to see the News stuff click the tab and the subforums disappear from view.

Do quirky news, that's always interesting besides the whoa the sky is falling stuff.
All the best, I'll look as I can. Ho ho ho.

Looks fine to me. As for instructions, didn't seem much restrictive in there and largely to be expected. Anything I don't like I'll do my usual and ignore As down the pub - news is sometimes something to talk about and hopefully have a laugh at it too. Thanks
