I'm back at my gym and watching as a couple of tourists are being set up for a fight on Friday night.
They must be mad.
Or maybe just desperate to have the fight on their life experience CV.
A different matter if they were here to make a "career," out of fighting. I've seen plenty of good semi-professional/professional fighters here. I just don't like seeing tourists in the ring after three weeks.
...........................................................
On the other hand - I've also seen professionals take on far too much in their quest for money. One French guy I knew - a top fighter - was asked to drop five kilo in weight to fight as a replacement for a major bout in BKK.
The guy weighed about 70 kilo normally - and he got down to the fighting weight within six days. Then his opponent knocked "&*!k," out of him as he had no energy. What a beating he took - and he was black and blue for ages after it. All that for 20,000 baht.
Pass - no thanks.
