I can recall that two thriving concerns were wiped out in my home town due to compulsory purchase orders. Fine that they were assisted to relocate elsewhere, however the location was too far removed from their client base which had both ease of both access and parking facilities. Within a year both concerns died with the loss of some 60 jobs and severe financial difficulties for one family of entrepreneurs. The 300 metre rule concerning entertainment and alcohol outlets may seem harsh but should children be subjected to the delights of drunkenness we often see here?  |

Seriously? You learn something new every day. That can't be right. What about all those TEFLERS buying beer in 7/11 and going to classes. That I've seen many times in BKK.
Are you talking about Mr. Toad? I didn't know he was one. I'm just saying in my BKK days from Ekamai as I rode side saddle on my motocy to go to the skytrain, regular three teachers there same time every day. Said hello to me a few times, they worked for some place called ECC, anyway, I bought my brekkie things others bought beer. and food.'For the road'. Funny guys too. |

Mr. Toad was forced to leave his job following an incident with a boy scout troop, a donkey and an oversized TGAU.
He is currently scratching a living as a low grade TEFLER and a part time male adult movie star (I believe that he uses the same booking agent as Sir David Truscott).
No worries though, we have him booked in for a session with Dr. Will.

I agree with the zoning laws, I don't want my children walking past strip joints, bars, karaoke bars, drunks, etc on their way home from school.
This would not be allowed in the UK, so why should our children be subjected to the adult entertainment industry just to please people who don't want to walk 300 meters?

I agree with the zoning laws, I don't want my children walking past strip joints, bars, karaoke bars, drunks, etc on their way home from school. This would not be allowed in the UK, so why should our children be subjected to the adult entertainment industry just to please people who don't want to walk 300 meters? Bizarre that they zoned the sex trade places as entertainment areas and left them open, then shut down genuine restuarants which don't open their doors till 6.00 p.m. |

The sex trade venues do not normally operate in school hours.
Why do you think the hostess girls are nicknamed night ladies by the locals?
Regarding ''the restaurants.''
There are many items on the menu if one is in the know or asks discreetly from the mama san regarding ones ''special supplementary diet!!

A top class restaurant opposite the school was shut down - the sex bars which open at 4.00 p.m. and which were closer were reprieved. It's just unbelievable. |
