I used to drink in a decent wee bar on Nimman - food was decent, drink great, and it was a fab people watching location. The bar was too narrow - I'd say 3.5 metres max, and that was a barrier to business. Anyway - it struggled along at a rental rate of 12,000 baht a month.

I was talking the owner yesterday - Khun Thai - and he was telling me he had to close down as the landlord raised the rent to 35,000 a month.
