Wife is having some unnecessary work done to the back of the house. The workmen drilled through outdoor tile to put up an unnecessary post. They hit a water line. They said they put some epoxy glue on it and filled the hole with www.tpipolene.co.th/eng/m500.html M 500 is a adhesive Mortar for floor or wall tiles and can be applied both indoors and outdoors. Why mortar? I don't have a clue. Should I get them to use a jack hammer and replace the tile and new pipe which will cost 200% more than the unnecessary work my wife was having done? She spent 14,000 baht and to fix it I think will cost me about 20,000+ if they don't break something else. Ideas?

Which side of the hole is the water meter on?
You might have an expensive water bill from now on

Does the pipe have proper pressure running through it or is it like most Thai villages which just have gravity fed pressure?

Oh, no tile glue isn't the way to fix it either way.

Won't cost much to do that job yourself. Go buy the same pipe, joiners, glue and a saw. Drain the water line. Cut the broken pipe. Put pipe glue on, cut a new section to go in, join them. Wait till glues dry, turn water back on.

Wait till glues dry, turn water back on. That had occurred to me except the leaking pipe is under cement and tile and that had to be broken out first and it was muddy. I'm not much for dirt. I did learn how to say, "hardware" in Thai as a result of this experience. Do you know? OK, wait for it....... "hardware." I kid you not. Attachment Deleted

^^^^ ฮาร์ดแวร์ Anyone who has used Thai Watsadu stores will know, for those who cant read Thai, its ninth from the left at the top of the page. www.thaiwatsadu.com/index.htmlDig the lot up, your biggest problem will be buying the exact same tiles, whole lot should be less than 6,000 baht (depending on tiles to be replaced).

The repair was free. They broke it and the owner of the company (they were doing some other work at the house) came and fixed it. I had some extra tile around the house I put it over the dogs attempts to dig a whole to America.

Always good to get a result, and makes a pleasant change from the usual anti Thai rants that can be found elsewhere.
