Just watched the latest Tarantino movie, The Hateful Eight. Over the closing credits is the Roy Orbison track "There Won't Be Many Coming Home". It was recorded in 1967. Just curious as to which war the song alludes. I suspect it wasn't the 1967 spat between Israel the Moslems. Is it a reference to the Vietnam war?
Anyway, good movie. Less violent than some of his other work. (Still violent, though. Not a movie for widows and orphans.)
Also a bit surprised. I hadn't realised Orbison was political.

I always thought it was about the American Civil war.
I believe the original lyrics were changed, wasnt it banned?

Fastest guitar alive or something like that he was a spy during the American Civil War. Hateful 8 nice Christmas movie for the kids - if kids homicidal maniacs.
