Living history - South Korea and Japan have agreed a landmark deal on Monday to solve the decades-long dispute over wartime sex slaves that has long strained relations, Seoul's foreign minister said. The deal was hailed by Shinzo Abe, the Japanese prime minister, who said it would welcome a "new era" in relations. "Japan and South Korea will welcome a new era," Mr Abe told reporters after speaking by phone with Park Geun-Hye, the South Korean president. "Both countries will cooperate together to open" it, he added. Earlier in the day, Yun Byung-Se, the foreign minister, told reporters after talks with his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida that the deal would be "final and irreversible" if Japan fulfils its responsibilities. Mr Kishida said Japan agreed to offer one billion yen (£6 million) in state compensation for "comfort women" who were sexually enslaved by Japanese troops during the Second World War. The fund is around ten times higher than Japan was initially considering, according to Japanese media. No mention made of, Pinoy, Malay, Indo etc etc women.
Bast ards, wait til they die off and try and hand out a pittance.
More to do with the Chinese Dragon rearing its head and forming alliances.
Why was Tojo sacrificed to keep the Emperor on the throne? Why wasnt the Emperor held accountable?
6 million dollars an effin insult. The Japanese had hoped to sweep it under the carpet with 600,000 dollars.
Isnt Japan the worlds 3rd largest economy?
