Have you ever wondered which airlines serve healthier food than others? One nutrition expert ranks them every year, and of 12 North American airlines tested, Virgin America’s economy-class food was determined to be the healthiest. As for the least healthy? That would be Frontier Airlines. Dr. Charles Platkin, PhD, who blogs on Diet Detective, asks for nutrition information from each airline to help him compile his rankings – not all of them cooperate. I can't understand why BA don't just get sandwiches from Pret a Manger and add an apple.

A friend was flying home from Ranong to Frankfurt.. At that time it was Phuket Air to Bangkok. He ate the inflight meal, the second leg with Lufthansa he spent most of it sat on the toilet clutching his guts.

Worst airline meal for me was United. Best would be EVA on an upgrade due to the free flow Dom Perignon- a rather nice touch. Aeroflot was so so, nothing special but not inedible. Ditto KLM.

I don't remember having great food on any airline....but the breakfast in Club World on BA to Bangers was pretty good.

Best for me last two years was Qatar Biz, very good...I am not one for arty farty food, which Qatar is a bit, but it was very tasty, plenty of it and what i like is you can eat when you want to up to 2 hours before landing, plus if pekish between meals, sarnies, etc.

Best for me last two years was Qatar Biz, very good...I am not one for arty farty food, which Qatar is a bit, but it was very tasty, plenty of it and what i like is you can eat when you want to up to 2 hours before landing, plus if pekish between meals, sarnies, etc. Yes all very nice but what I want when I have a movie on and the booze is flowing is a bag of pretzels...not a fancy pile of crab wasabi and salad. |

Qatar two thumbs up. Royal Brunei is the pits they play Islamic prayers before takeoff and no alcohol.
Interesting as they are two Islamic countries.

But of the two, which is the less likely to have a fanatical Moslem pilot who will plunge the plane into the sea whilst crying "allahu akbar"? Or a devout follower of the "prophet" who will blow himself up in midflight? (Personally I will not fly with any airline from a Moslem country. I like life too much.) |
