A Kent teenager died after inhaling the gas from deodorant he was spraying himself with, an inquest has found 16-year-old Thomas Townsend used large amounts the aerosol to clean himself rather than take showers, the Folkestone inquest was told. He died on August 29 last year at Red Lodge in Millfield, Folkestone. Staff member Lucy Banyard discovered his body on the landing outside his room at about 6.30pm. Paramedics were called but were unable to revive him. Police investigators later found 42 cans of aerosol products in his room, many of them empty. I know someone that died of lighter fuel inhalation at 15 years of age - he was asthmatic and died instantly. I find it astonishing that deoderant contains enough "poison," to kill anyone - this deserves serious scrutiny by the authorities.

He's used so much it's suffocated him.
The guy obviously had a mental disorder. No idea what it would be called though.
If only he'd used a roll on.

I believe the Australian members here refer to it as a "pommy shower" I agree smokie, I had trouble getting my head around it as well, and I posted a link to the story a couple of days ago in a topic I called "Strange World". And yes, "some" Australians do refer to the application of deodorant as a "pommy shower", that saying goes back many years. Some of us were brought up believing English people only bathed once a week and referred to Saturday night as "bath night". We also joked that Poms hid their money under the soap. But mind you, this was never proved.
