Just to show that (at least) I have nothing against the French I just watched the 1973 movie version of "The Three Musketeers". Even though French kill French it's a rather humerus version, bit of Anglo-Saxon humor, American slapstick. Like the scene where the musketeers 'collect' their dinner, or help out Buckingham in the Laundry House. Also nice is the scene where the Harbour master remarks 'but this paper is for one person only' and d'Artagnan answers "I am only one person' and pointing to Planchet "that is a servant". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Three_Musketeers_in_filmWe'll save the sequel "The Four Musketeers" for tomorrow.

Next
"Thierry le Fronde" with some English bashing around 1360 "Ivanhoe" with some Norman bashing in the 12th century
and of course an honorable mention for "Floris van Rosemondt" with some Gelre and Frisian bashing around 1500.
