I won't quote from the article as BP is weird about that, but suffice it to say that THAI is paying its top executives ~$71,000 USD a year, and this Aussie will get 3 times that.

So what? THAI fares are hardly 1/3rd of other airlines, and I honestly doubt that American or Quantas or Lufthansa or BA executives would ever consider a job for a measly $213,000 per year. The guy was probably making twice that at Emirates!

Unbelievable, yet all too believable.

They'd rather hemorrhage cash (operate at a loss) than get things turned around and profitable by paying for brains.

SMH.
