Good idea - We’re a big fan of unisex bathrooms. Gender binary facilities make many people uncomfortable, such as those whose gender identities are fluid as well as those who are caring for someone of a different gender who need to accompany their charge to the restroom. That’s why we love businesses like Pure Pizza in Charlotte, N.C. who make sure that everyone feels comfortable using their restrooms by making their facilities unisex. And, in case there was any blowback, the restaurant recently posted the following note on the wall of their unisex bathroom to shut down any potential opposition. The note – written in a friendly tone and signed by the owner of Pure Pizza, Juli Ghazi – reads: We have a UniSex bathroom because sometimes gender specific toilets put others into uncomfortable situations. And since we have a lot of our friends coming to see us, we wanted to provide a place for our friends who are: Single Dads with daughters Single Moms with sons Parents with disabled children Those in the LGBTQ community Adults with aging parents who may be mentally/physically disabled Thank you for helping us to provide a safe environment for everyone. Blether goes to Japan for the express purpose of emptying all the used knicker machines.
I believe he sells them on a stall at the Barras.
Off topic but all true!

The concept wouldn't work for public toilets, say, in a park.

The concept wouldn't work for public toilets, say, in a park. Actually I think they are confusing two concepts .....special needs toilets and unisex toilets....not the same thing. Special needs toilets are to serve the needs of a large percentage of the community.....people with disabilities, aged people and people who may be accompaning children of the opposite sex. Unisex toilets are toilets available to both sexes. In these toilets the closet is closed but available to both sexes. it can be normal sized..hand washing and mirrors are located outside these in a place available to both sexes. In Queensland a few years ago the police and government were advocating these as it makes them much safer for all and easier to police. They encourage the washing and mirrors etc to be clearly visible from the surrounding public space. In other words ideal for a park. Not so good for those old south australian policemen who used to hang out in toilets trying to catch homosexuals.

I had a mirror peering down at me in a cubicle at London Bridge Station quite a few years ago. It seems everyone loves me . I did mention it to a Bobby out on the concourse and they duly went in to investigate. they love a bit of queerbashing.
