What is this stubborn rage that has people going back for more?

I was in a court back in the Nineties waiting for a case when I watched the trial of a trucker accused of forcing a car off the road. It turned out that the car in question did not report the incident to the police, another motorist saw the prolonged incident and eventual conclusion.

That was back in the days before mobiles - said motorist pulled over at a junction, found a phone box and called the police. The police stopped the truck 30 miles down the road.

The police then went to the home of the victim, who confirmed the incident. Result? conviction and a three year driving ban.

The victim testified that they hadn't phoned the police as he thought he wouldn't be believed. Good job the other motorist got involved.
