It used to drive me berserk when we were putting a big tender together in HK, and the English staff would p**s off home for the evening.
Not as bad as irrelevant rants over long-held grudges from times passed, forgotten and irrelevant , though

I've been up for a week doing tenders. As in no sleep at all. Used to happen a lot, but managed to standardize most stuff over the years so it's a bit quicker now.
Contracting is a career I'd like to leave behind at some point, especially major projects. Presently managed to avoid a big one in London for the most part and have this lovely little gig in Devon, restoring a river at the moment as part of our wider regeneration project of an old paper mill site back to nature.
Never had such a delightful job.
The £XX,000,000 and £XXX,000,000 projects are a no no for me these days on health grounds. I'm not killing myself over a load of old pomp and bravado. Doesn't get you anywhere but dead.
