When I'm in Thailand, which is about 1/2 my time, I miss stuff from home.
Some of the sports I can hack my way around to view, but not all.
I miss a lot of the content.
I have enough understanding of how they work to be dangerous, so I'm asking here, before I make a mistake, which ones to use.
Of course, I want it for free.
And I'd like it to believe I'm sitting in Sydney.
So, any recommended free VPN's for the Wide Brown Land (Australia)?

It’s not free but I’ve been using IPVanish: www.ipvanish.com/ for the past couple of years. I enjoy watching some shows on Direct TV and my IP address has to be located in the US. Looks as if there are more than a few to choose from in Australia From IPVanish map selection,........  |

The top rated one in mainland China is Astrill. Express VPN is blocked there. www.astrill.com/ Worth a look a Astrill, I can watch Making a Murderer on Neflix and that's a country specific show so I use a U.S server. List of their servers here www.astrill.com/servers.php |

Yes you can that's why I use Astrill, as you know just about anything western media is blocked in the mainland. Key is also speed and how fast they connect.

On a suggestion of a friend, I installed Tunnel Bear.
Simple as to install, free, but I don't see light at the end of the tunnel for Australia.
Have contacted them and will reply back here once I sussed it.

Been using Tunnel Bear for some time ,works well, as I use it infrequently the 1G usage size is fine for me,also run Tor, slow but sure but you need to change your habits a bit with Tor. Link below for Tor. www.torproject.org/download/download. |

Are you questioning my statement?
Usually I don't bother with TV from the West when I live here.
Just that I've had a recent health issue, been close to bed-bound these past 10 days
... and just bored.
There was a Cricket game I wanted to watch, usually I can get it on crictime, but it was a T20 game and no-one was carrying it.
Hence, I thought a VPN might do the trick. |

Thanks .Cricket....surely you could have got a friend to email a photo of the start of the match....cricket is so slow a stilll photo would be the same:)) That is what being forced to attend school cricket matches at a private school did to my love of cricket. |

Got to agree with 'Me', not a fan of the sport game.
Standing in front of 3 sticks and waiting for someone to throw the ball to you and when they eventually do you then try your best to hit it away with an even bigger stick than the 3 sticks behind you is not my idea of excitement.
In fact the only thing that I can think of which is more boring is watching someone standing in front of 3 sticks and waiting for someone to ......................
