I met Smokie at Soi 15, Sukhumvit, at the Irish pib, where I was faintly horrified to see two Thai dwarves dressed as leprechauns.
Smokie reckons thats okay because at least they've got regular jobs, and they must be getting some serious sex from the perverted female clientele.
Anyway, Smokie paid the bar tab and left. I couldn't believe it - he must be feeling ill. The last time he bought a round, he got his change in shillings.
Anyway, thats not the story. I popped into 7/eleven on yhe way home and: .
This young Anerican guy came in screaming -"I hate this country."
He roared his wsy sround the aisles, his neck hunched, and his facr twisted the way Boner goes when he's trying to hit a hihh note. ( Think chicken giving birth to a hedgehog, that will give you an idea).
He grabbed a couplr breezer type drinks, waltzed back to yhe check oit, where the crowd psrted to let yhe crazy man through, and said:
"I hate this country.
I hate the women in this country,
I hate this country even more than I hate America."
Meanwhile The Blether was slumped over the other counter giggling like Deputy Dawg. The look on the Thai faces was priceless.
So off went our hater into the night, and off went The Blether chuckling into the darkness. An unbelievable night. Smokie bought a drink, and a random American had a meltdown below my nose.
