I think i have made a bad one just now,i asked the german girl,in the next bungalow,if she could apply mosquito repellent to the small of my back[where you can't reach],up to this point we have had cordial relations ',but something has now gone sour,my actual words where as follows;"could you make cream on my back",pointing to the area i could not reach,she flew into a disgusted rage,and went inside slamming the door,leaving me somewhat perplexed,when i had recovered,from this somewhat nerve jarring encounter,i sat down,and wondered what i had said or done wrong,then it struck me,like a diamond between the eyes,in trying to simplify my language i had unwittingly,invited her to commit an act of a most unatural nature ill befitting a gentleman,and an upstanding member of our small church in Kok Prong,never has the expression lost in translation seemed so pertinent,i can only hope i can redeem myself at dinner,i had thought to offer her a 'ride' in my motor car tomorrow,but i now fear this too may be deemed the advance of a cad. Anyway to offer me some succour in my distressed state i would love to hear from other members,as it may offer some relief from my present station of disgrace.
