Does anyone really care? ^^^ I always found that place dark and dingy...if they did the same in Pattanakarn it would sit empty. Plenty great little places around there already...no pies though.

The Londoner is due to reopen in April this year, the new place has got rid of the "old UK pub" type feel and is sort of industrial/post modern in design with a beer garden on roof etc

I am liking the Branston for 100 baht, bargain, I am paying 180 baht at the moment. All I can see on the website is Branston small chunk (vile stuff - nowhere near as good as the original) at 300 baht/jar. Incidentally, when you were a child do you remember Branston having tiny pearl onions in it? They were my favourite part. Haven't had a pearl onion in my Branston now for perhaps a couple of decades, if not more.

I usually by mine in Home Fresh Mart The Mall Bang Kapi, or Big C at Mega Bang Na, its about 180 baht per bottle for the proper stuff.

I'm agreeing with RGS on Bunters. I went there on Monday and stocked up the freezer. BTW, highly recommend the Bunters white pudding.

Need to update your TEFLr degree, no problems, digital pikeys welcome.
Seen heading east on Petch in the direction of On Nut.

Last night I tried one of the Bunter's Chicken Curry Pies from my stock and it was quite good, will definitely include the Chicken Curry Pies next time I stock up. Tonight I am going to try a duck pie that they gave me as a sample and will report on the taste tomorrow.

Seb, the duck connection took a few seconds to filter but I understand the reference now.

The duck in the pie will stew, which is sort of appropriate given that Metisdead spends a lot time time stewing over things

OK, so as promised yesterday, my review of the Duck Pie. After arriving home from work yesterday evening I noticed that my free sample pie was actually ‘Duck and Ham’. It had been slowly defrosting in the lower part of the fridge all day, so while it was defrosted the center of the pie was still very cold. I nuked it for 2 minutes just to bring up the internal temperature and then banged it in the oven for a further 5 minutes. The taste was ok but to be honest it isn’t the best pie in the Bunter’s range. This one hits 6/10 on the Chip Shop Pukka Pie scale (1 being a pie that you would buy in Aldi/Lidl and 10 being a real Chip Shop Pukka Pie). Low gristle content and definitely edible. Would I buy Bunter’s Duck and Ham pies again? Yes but as mentioned above, I wouldn’t say it the finest in their arsenal. Incidentally, Bunter’s Chicken Curry and Ham & Broccoli pies both score a strong 8/10 and their sausage rolls hit a massive 10/10 on the Bragg's Bakery Sausage Roll scale.
