Over the coming weekend I will be reviewing Bunter’s Cumbrian Thick sausages and their new to the range Duck sausages. The spoon in the picture is only there to act as a scale. Cumbrian Thick sausages Duck sausages

Oh BTW, If anyone has recently bought a bottle of Jamesons that they need reviewing, please send it over and I'll do what I can. Obviously 1 liter bottles take precedence over 700ml bottles.

Cumbrian Thick sausages Duck sausages OK, review of Bunter’s Sausages (as promised last week). This is a very short review and without additional pictures as the test/review was carried out on the back of Jamesons (well it was St. Valentine’s weekend, so I had to appear sexy for SWMBO). The Cumberland Sausages (which I’ve had many times in the past from Bunters) score a solid 8/10. They are packed with the correct herbs and spices and taste just like the Cumberland Sausages that you would buy from a High Street butchers in most towns in the UK. So basically, a very large cut above what is available off the supermarket shelves. I would rate the Duck Sausages as a 7/10. As with the Cumberland Sausages, the Duck Sausages also have a great mix of herbs and spices. However, if asked would I buy them again then my answer would be no. Don’t get me wrong, they are a great sausage and if I saw them on a supermarket shelf then I would definitely buy them but as I can only buy them from Bunters I wouldn’t bother as they have too many other choices which I believe are better.

My last review on Bunter’s Foods is what I would call their ‘Jewel in the Crown”. For me their Irish White Pudding is the ‘Badger’s Tadger’. Few things to straighten out before the review. It’s not Irish and it’s not white. It doesn’t look the same as a true Irish White Pudding. It doesn’t taste like a true Irish White Pudding. But oh, the taste, it is Manna from Heaven. It is a perfect mix of meat/oats/herbs/spices and whatever else is packed into it. It tastes good as a cold snack (in the same way as some people enjoy black pudding straight off the ring). microwaved or fried. I personally love it fried on a very slow heat with just enough of an Olive Oil drizzle to get the fry started, the oils and fats in the meat provide the rest. It had a vey unique taste and the consistency when you eat it is similar to Haggis, in that the oaty texture provides a great feeling and taste as the whole thing melts in your mouth. I could wax lyrical about this fine foodstuff all day long, it really is the pinnacle of their products. It has been on my bucket list since I first discovered Bunter’s Foods. Every time I get my Bunter’s red cross package I cross ‘eat a Bunter’s Irish White Pudding’ off from my bucket list and then eat the White Pudding. As soon as the White pudding has been polished off, I then add to my bucket list ‘eat a Bunter’s Irish White Pudding’. It’s sort of like a never ending loop but one that I am so happy to be stuck in. So many times I have read BS reviews where some hack regards a product with an impossible 11/10 but for Bunter’s White Pudding I really would feel like I was besmirching the memory of Howard (the founder of Bunter’s) if I offered less than 15/10 for this tasty delicacy. A 1kg Bunter’s Irish White Pudding (the spoon is there for scale). Price is 230 Baht per kilo. Sliced and ready for cooking. Fried and ready to eat (the glass of Jamesons & Coke is there for scale purposes only).

Sloane's chorizo sausage. Just do it. Love the description on Passion Delivery's website: Quote 'The pork used in Sloane's sausages come from free range, herb fed happy pigs!'. Really, happy pigs, they should have built their house out of stone. www.passiondelivery.com/products/sloanes-chorizo-sausages

I sometimes get happy when I'm fed with 'Herbs' but probably different herbs than what those piggies get fed on.

Soutie, are you suggesting that the BBQ enjoys the occasional thick sausage? Anyway, I can't be the BBQ as the food I'm reviewing is pork and besides which I am providing useful information, when did the BBQ last do that?

I am sure the BBQ enjoys many a thick sausage, but think the freshness of the said sausage maybe be in question, as we know some people get desperate for a thick sausage and would be very prepared to indulge in sausage which has passed its used by date, even if said sausage was pork

Fabricus got very annoyed about Gayllips. I don't know if it's about his moral code or if he was upset that other people were enjoying themselves. It's enough to make one Pish the bed. Maybe Fabricus can join the ALBC.
