After last weeks debacle in Isaan, where I flew down to watch a championship Muay Thai fight due to my trainer pal - Khun Ladbrador Puppy - ( lovable but effic stupid ), I managed to watch a series of fights at the army controlled stadium last night.
What an atmosphere - it was brillaint to see the Thais jumping up and down as if each bout was a world cup final - with the excitement added to by a wee bit of, ahem, money changing hands. Being the last of the big spenders I may have participated in said activity three times to the tune of 800 baht. And I may have won every bout and came out 800 baht up. Now, naturally said activity is illegal in Thailand so I cannot confirm any of my claims.
I will say, if you ever get a chance to watch the real-deal Thai boxing, take it. Atmosphere superbous.

Went to a soft opening of the new stadium a couple of years ago. Was introduced to some top brass army type, I didnt know whether to shake his hand, wai him or salute him, . Place is a bitch to get to, and the traffic is terrible.
