Pizza Express assistant manager Alex Prince offered the woman, who was eating alone, a free meal when her card was rejected and she was left unable to pay. The Wilkes family, who were sat on an adjacent table, had offered to cover the lady's bill, but kind hearted Alex responded by writing their bill off too. Lisa Wilkes, who was with her husband Jeremy and their children, later wrote about the generous act on Facebook and her post has since been shared more than 10,000 times. Being cynical, is this just a ploy by Pizza Express to generate positive publicity? And is that's why what is really such a non-story ends up in the national press?
