^^^^ if you read other forums, thats not the case, most of them end up as hammock swingers etc etc.
Warning for FREE, DO NOT get involved with a woman that has kids, especially boys,never mind, they never listen, their girl is different.

What I meant by that was a phone call to the army would trump any "high level police protection." Little Emporer would have nowhere to run. On that subject - its clear that the army have a tight grip on Chiang Mai. I always knew they were the enforcers of last resort ( the way they shut down Spicy a few years ago showed that ) - however, they now have their boot on the neck of the local police. Karaoke joints are shutting down left, right, and centre - I noticed another two closed last week. That money tap to the police is being turned off. CM police ran dozens of impromptu road blocks, "Mia Noi needs money," days. Army reaction? desist - all road blocks must be notified in advance.
