50.40 the latest - ooooh, EU referendum, what damage will you do. I predict no lower than 49 But that will result in some people getting as low as 47 by the time they pay fees. Time to tighten belts for many.

Interesting, I'm also in need of banking advice, I really have no idea about that stuff other then never buy on credit. Should I leave all my savings in Thailand, take them all out or half and half?

In my opinion, if you are intending to come back to Thailand, leave them here. Others will vehemently disagree.

Squeaky bum time for who, in jolly ole blighty a quid is still a quid.
The exporters eg those driving the economy must be rubbing their hands in glee, exports got cheaper for the masses.
I still remember the days of 36 and 38 baht to the pound, anything over 40 is a bonus to me. The Johnny Come Lately, Bobs Yer Uncle type with his goat cheese pension may have a differing opinion.
As mentioned before, great news, bring it on, my next house in the UK is getting cheaper each day.

I might have to give up one five star dinner once a month and eat my favourite krapow moo sap instead. Probably washed down with Leo instead of Heineken or Asahi. The sky is falling! .

While those who are on a state pension alone will feel the pinch, others who have retirement visas based upon income will start getting twitchy. A lot of fully qualified civil service pensions come in around £1300 a month, at 50 baht/£ they are fine. If it goes much below a few people will struggle.

^^^^, not disagreeing with what you say, for many its a wake up call, for others maybe they should never have been here in the first place.
You mention retirement visas, simple, lodge 800k baht in the bank, how the heck can someone get to retirement age and not have 800k to put in the bank, they seem to have money to build houses and buy land, no such immigration need to do so.
65 000 baht per month is at the LCL for being here, again for some it may be time to reconsider their options, they do have options I assume.

No options and no medical insurance. Not even the seat of their pants in some cases where it was burnt by the flames on the bridge they ran across to get here.

^^^, one thing I never understand, their bints always seem to be dripping in gold. Or at very least, sitting in a house where the guy kids himself that he'll get half the money if the seperate/sell. I heard a guy say that very thing - "I asked the wife would she sell the house if we divorced and give me half, she said yes." Of course she said yes - there's one moron in the relationship, and it ain't her.

^^^^, thats assuming there is even a house to sell.
Wont be the first guy who comes back here and finds the house has already been sold. Wont be the first guy to find out the house has a loan secured against it.
My personal favourite, wont be the first guy to find out, there is no house to sell, his mrs NEVER owned a house. It was put in her mothers name at the land registry office, inheritance is NOT part of any divorce settlement.
Never mind, they never learn, mug probably had a stupid grin on his face as he handed over the readies, probably waied at the same time.

What is wrong with you guys? Gloating because you are so smart. Why gloat, not your problem. You do not make sense. Try a divorce in the UK; I just gave up and told her straight, she who was the one who was <ducking> another; I keep the house and the kids, you <duck> off. Sorry British law does not (did not) support that proposition. A year long non cost effective battle that drove me insane and I gave up. Keep the house and my children, goodbye. Are Thai tarts any better or worse? My house in Thailand is in my son's name. Yes you legal beagles will point out that it cannot be his until he is of age, but he knows it is his. I care not, if dead, why I cannot care. If alive, there is no way my son could finance this place without me. Plus the devious superstition card. The fear of the dead, the wronged. Quit the silly self righteousness . I provide the best I can for my family. No , we are not the ideal, but we do not live with unequal rights. I have no rights, sure. My son does and knows it. His extended family knows it. Others live their lives by their choices as do you. Up to them. I care not. Why gloat?
Edit on my death my pension (private) goes to my wife, yes she knows, or if she dies first, then to my son until he is eighteen. If I p**s off they are <duck>ed. Me , I will write on some website pointing out shit. Probably not.

Legal beagles, in England you cannot change the locks, joint property,oh well, I did, I know.
I changed the woman I am married to, changed my child (not really, cannot) changed my home, country, life, and did not gloat. My sons, one I stay close to, he visits. The other, well unchnageable.

Looks like all the 'ten bob millionaire' pensioners over at TV will be heading for pastures colder in the future, probably without 'Tee Rak'
