A man who travels the world eating McDonald's has revealed his favourite places on the planet to eat fast food. Born in Ontario, Canada, James McGowan now lives in Bangkok, where he works for a tech startup company. His true passion, however, appears to be eating as much fast food as possible in as many places as he can get to. Mr McGowan has eaten McDonald's everywhere from the United Kingdom to Japan, and from Qatar to Hawaii. Dishes range from McDonald’s churros, available in Seoul, South Korea, to the Japanese Crab Croquette burger. He spoke to The Independent about his favourite countries to go to McDonald’s - and the best items he has tried so far. Best bit about McDonald's there is the air con. Other than that it tastes the same as any other bloody McDonald's. That's the whole idea of the place isn't it?

Best McDonalds that I have ever been to was in Macau during the mid 90s. The only requirement for Brits back then was to get a yearly visa, so one year instead of messing about at Immigration I did a border run to Macau. 2 thing that the Macau McDonalds had going for it were that smoking was still allowed (by then all other Macs were no smoking) and in the mid 90s McDonalds was probably the hottest spot in town , the place really was dead.

Oh, and the McDonalds that used to be at the front of the Prince of Wales building at Queen's Pier HK. Because it was a drop off point for American sailors when the fleet was in town they sold Pizza and pint glasses of beer (well Carlsberg if that counts as a beer).

I remember that well, what a spot . 。 After work we all used to sit at Queen's Pier and sup on Carlsdibars, bought from the man with the refrigerated push cart. It was good fun to watch the occasional tourist clambering off a junk trip, losing their footing and ending up in the sea. Just off on a tangent slightly, Glenn Hoddle told me to Frick off at Queen's Pier. Chelsea were visiting when he was the manager and we were doing CP for them. I started rounding them up to get on the junk trip when Hoddle looked round at me and asked if I was the press. I explained that I was his security and nothing to do with the press and he sneered at me and sad 'Well if your not press then you can frick off then and stop talking to me". What a fricken tosser. BTW, Ken Bates was an excellent guy, down to earth and fully polite.

Want me to go on? CMK, if you are going to use Google to try to prove a point at least offer the full data and not just the selected part that helps to strengthen your argument, it’s called giving a fair and honest perspective. You forgot to mention that North America has a staggering 14,267 McDonalds. That is more than the whole of Europe (including Russia), Japan, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Thailand, Argentina and Malaysia combined, who share a total of 14,243 between them. You can check with Google if you have any reason to dispute these figures.

You can check with Google if you have any reason to dispute these figures. My point was that there are three countries that have a lot of McDonalds in Europe; UK, France and Germany. Given that it is foreign to their cultures those three countries would be far more likely to think of McDonalds as cultured as opposed to Americans who never put fast food and cultured together. Hippity was as usual trying to belittle America as a land that has no culture. More Americans travel and have passports than people from the UK and speak far more different languages are better educated and cultured simply because there are so many Americans. It's OK to belittle Americans because you all gang up on anyone who brings up facts about the situation. Cultured to Americans means educated about culture be it American or another country. 300 plus languages are spoken in the USA. 60 million don't speak English at home. 42 million people from the UK have passports and almost 3 times as many Americans have passports. Per capitas don't travel - people travel and 113 million Americans have passports. More Thais live in America than Korat. Mexican food is better in America than Mexico. There are 1200 symphony orchestras in America. The average pay in LA for symphony musicians is $148,720 UK $50,000 Culture? Money talks and the best symphonies are in the USA. So you all think the USA finds McDonalds as culture? Hardly. We actually think Europeans are mostly rubes (Slang An unsophisticated country person). NYC has Broadway, the Met, one of the best comedy scenes, The Metropolitan Opera, and live music galore. The ability to thrive in the arts has always been one of NYC’s biggest draws. While London’s theater scene is much more reasonably priced than NYC’s, I’ve found that the quality of musicals suffers in comparison. Winner: I still believe NYC is the cultural epicenter of the world. darcyunrooted.com/nyc-vs-london-city-better/So why not stop with the American farmer redneck stereotype that went out with the repeal of the Volstead act. I know you were just kidding but we all know (as I have demonstrated) that you can't take a joke about your home countries.
