I've basically managed to avoid it today, although took me 50 minutes to drive to work this morning, due a lot of traffic and Bangkok drivers try to negotiates roads with hills and bends.
Sittng at home now and the rain has arrived, which should cool it down.
Not it a big fan of Songkran, but I think I should venture out for a couple of hours tomorrow.

I was malling it today and used the BTS, I even wore my new songkran shirt (I looked like an idiot but it matches my eyes so it's not that bad) Ate something dodgy today at lunch and rushed home, almost made it and that little midget got me.
I swear he's aiming for Johnny Senior.

bts-ed everywhere for today's necessities: noted all the water-war weapons flouted by teen warriors. A bit nervous as I left home without encasing my electronics in plastic, but nothing liquid was directed my way...tomorrow is another day

Spent the day along Silom road and got drenched at least twice. Had a great time and was wonderful to watch the Thai's having the time of their lifes.
Last year I was my first songkran and I gave the whole thing a miss being the miserable farang moaner.
I do hope all those who moan about it aint the same ones who tell others not to let the door hit them on theirs asses when they leave Thailand.

No one on here would tell them that bert....we smile at them and wave them on their way back to good old Blighty or the chain gangs of the Aboriginal lands whilst whistling God Save the Queen. The Sex Pistols version naturally.

I even ventured out on the first day which was pleasant enough but it's really deathly quiet around here. I wound up sat at a small 'mom and pop' near my place which is run by a very tidy lass and her sister while they p**sed about all day soaking any unfortunate passers by and plastering folks with talc. I think all that day there was only a handful of idiot trucks that passed. All good, harmless fun though. Shortly, I'll pop off for my usual trot around the neighbourhood on the last day and spring for a bottle or two of wallop to sip on while I shoot the sh*t with whoever...
