You lot are slacking a bit aren't ya? When starting a forum, pub threads should be the ABSOLUTE first priority over everything else. Shoddy work, good job I've arrived to help you out.
Anyway.... So I went to Simpson's bar on Srinakarin tonight, almost opposite Paradise Park Mall.
It has a nice beer garden with a comfy seating area. A bit close to the main road but I think you'd have to be very fussy to really be bothered by that. Inside looked decent as well with a cosy decor and plenty of comfy looking seating areas. It was quiet but I'm lead to believe that it's normally quite a busy place. (Tonight being a Tuesday on Songkran, slow trade is understandable)
Hoegaarden, Leffe, Boddingtons and Singha on tap as well as a selection of bottled beers and wines.
A good menu. I chose bangers and mash, which I enjoyed. (Real mash). My only gripe was the chilli in the otherwise faultless Cumberland sausages (They just can't resist putting chilli in stuff, can they?). The pizzas were highly recommended by the waitress yet upon choosing to order one, I was told that they had run out of flour so pizzas were no longer available...(TIT)
The one man band was decent, but clearly struggled with some vocals. I literally checked to see if there was a karaoke machine inside at one point, but that's not to say that he was 'that' bad.
7/10 I may have scored it higher if it had been a busier night with more atmosphere and a bit more 'oomph'.

Great thread 'rakers and thanks for correcting this oversight!
Opposite Roast just off of Thonglor is a pub on the corner selling Issan food. It has a couple of good sized TV's, shows the football and has a beer or wine deal.
The beer is all you can drink Leo or I think Chang (served as pints) for two hours for 300 Baht. Service is quick and the food is good too.
Has an outdoor seating area as well.
Give this a 6/10 for quality as you have to use the loos that are part of the complex and outside the pub itself.
It gets 10/10 for value...and that deal is all day every day.

Another one to add is the Sixpence pub at Pickadaily on On Nut. I frequent said establishment fairly often as it is local to me and kid friendly (I have two little terrors).
It's a small place with a decent beer garden outside. Hoegaarden and heineken on tap with a decent selection of bottled beers, ciders and wines. They allow you to pre-order your beers before happy hour ends so you get to take advantage of happy-hour prices all night. Quite a limited menu with the food ordered in from nearby restaurants. The staff are friendly and it also attracts a fairly regular, friendly crowd. Not a bad place to go if you want a quiet night out in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
I'd give it 8/10, albeit possibly with some bias as it's a godsend to me to have a local that is kid friendly. It's also right next door to a massage parlour and there's a couple of supermarkets nearby should you want to pick up a few bits and bobs while you're there.

Could one, recommend a suitable watering hole for The good doctor?

I'm trash, I like Gulliver's near the Amari. Good food, cheap beer and if I am early when meeting friends I can shoot pool with the freelancers.

My favorite was the Witch's Tavern in Soi Tonglor but it's been sold now to build a condo or something.

Is Check-in 99 (or Check-in Gardens) still going, just off Soi7 Suk, best steak I've had since I left the UK.
