The guy in front of me at Don Muang got pulled for having seven visa exempt entries to Thailand in one year. The senior officer told him he was being allowed a seven day only visa this time and would be red-flagged if he tried to enter again visa-exempt any time soon.
In my case they asked why I always have a visa but not this time - "I'm only here for a week," I replied, offering my flight paperwork for next weeks flight.
"It's okay, just want to know why you always get a visa but not this time."

On a side note, The Moll said she'd wait for me at the baggage carousel cos Thais always fly through immigration and we mere mortals are always at the tail end of the cow. I was there ten minutes before her, which really, really annoyed her.
