Okay, not often I will review a room but I'm doing it for the benefit of the members here as I think some of you may go for this. The Galaxy Casino is a stunning big Macau resort - at £100 a night or so, well worth it. I get confused with the taxes and service charges, I think the actual cost is about £120 all in for a king room. Then the upgrade is offered if you are lucky -
$670 Macau dollars, which I think is around £60/£62 - to get access to a quite superb large one bedroom suite fiited to the highest standards - great. That's not the punchline.
For the additional £62 you get the minibar complimentary. Wooop-de-woo, you say. HOLD ON !!! LISTEN !! Minibar contents -
A half bottle of quality red wine.
A half bottle of quality white wine.
Four beers.
Twelve soft drinks.
A couple of snacky things including Ferroro Roche chocolates to go with the wine and keep the Mrs happy.
Plus!!!!!
A quarter bottle of Smirnoff.
A quarter bottle of Chivas 12 yo
A quarter bottle of brandy
And a quarter bottle of gin.
As far as I'm concerned, that makes the upgrade free, especially in a hotel that charges five star prices in the bars.
Superb value.
Just don't get drunk and blow a couple of grand on the tables, that defeats the purpose.
Or maybe that is the purpose after all.

The Moll brought some with her. Comical to see them sitting next to the kettle in a five-star suite.

That is one hotel I can guarantee I'll go back to - in fact, I'm going to put a label on my piggy bank saying "Galaxy Macau." I might even take a brain storm and go into the Banyan Tree section - it looks superb.
