Anyone who has worked on a teletype console with paper output (and those with two left or right hands) will understand this "So, the evidence is very strong that bad typing played a large role in the design of the UNIX system. With its terse input and terse output, UNIX V6 was a joy to use - I am a bad typist too." www.hillside.co.uk/articles/typing.html

The article provides no evidence whatsoever for the assertion that bad typing played a role.
The desire to keep things terse is perfectly natural to most IT professionals. It's only the clueless who want prolix commands and GUIs to get a job done. Even today I get irritated with websites that require even one unnecessary extra click to get a job done.

^^| must be the rain last night. Sense of humour washed away ? I guess so. I didn't see anything humorous in the article - nothing to raise even the slightest giggle or titter.
