Packing up for a couple of weeks in Paris....Just me and the wife - kids staying with the inlaws.....
I have to admit it now seems like there's a lot more predators out there now than our last trip there - 12 years ago.....
And seems worse than the relative safety of Thailand.....
Anybody have anything to share? What have you run into? I wear zippered pocket stuff when travelling - Columbia jackets, fleeces, pants/slacks.....
We have those pouches to wear around the neck - although I don't like wearing them.....
I'll probably scan our info, cards, passports, etc onto a zip drive + the wife wants to scan to email to have additional access....
Size usually helps me motor along unchallenged but also thinking of the lock in a sock option tucked in a jacket pocket - - is that over thinking or prepared.....
I'm a much more seasoned traveller than my wife....

France and Paris in a particular is a great place to visit if is wasn't for the Froggies.. But to the topic too hand...being a seasoned traveller in some dodgy places over the years, I bought myself a low profile "money belt" you wear under your clothes to keep your "real valuables" in Scanning docs and emailing them to yourself is a good idea as well, I do that with my Thai stuff, ie WP/Visa DL and my PP etc. Don't wear Thai gold as I have told my Mrs on may occasions as so you don't tempt a smash and grab

Good idea....
I do have a money belt but the bills have to be folded down quite a bit...
My wife wears a nice but demure Thai gold necklace 24/7....I'll suggest to her to remove it.....

Keep away from cartoonist offices, the Stade de France, theatres where rock bands perform and restaurants... and men with long, scruffy beards. Should reduce the risk considerably. However, thinking of Belgium, just to be on the safe side, best also to avoid airports, Metro stations, in fact all public transport, and anywhere else where there are high concentrations of people.
