I remember a few years ago when he was running for president, 2008 I think, there was an interview with the Vietnamese guy who was in charge of that prison he was locked up in, the Hanoi Hilton.
The Vietnamese guy said he was definitely not tortured while he was in prison (possibly because he "co-operated" with his captors)

I visited the Hilton when I was in Vietnam in 2004 and again in 2005 when I took an Aussie mate to see it. Worth seeing, as are the guillotines on display.
Spooky place to be in, even when only as a visitor. Would hate to have been locked up in there.
