EMS 1669 application now ready for free download in case of emergency during SongkranAttachment DeletedThe National Institute for Emergency Medicine today advised travellers to download its mobile application "EMS 1669" reasoning that it is a very useful application that enable them to access to assistance with only a touch on the alert feature on the application in their smartphones in case of emergency. The application was officially introduced for free download on both iOS and Android platforms during the Songkran festival. It said during the two months long trial of the mobile application, 20,839 people have downloaded the app, and 854 of them have been assisted through the use of the app. The mobile application provides necessary basic information of the user that will enable rescue authorities to properly assess the situation so that assistance could be provided correctly and promptly and reach the scene in time. To get the app for a smartphone, people are required to register with their names, identity numbers, contact numbers, and their relatives’ contact information in case of emergency. Once they need help, they just open the app and use the alert feature to inform EMS 1669.
