Foodland soi 5 used to have a corner where they sold various brands of bean. They would grind for you on request. Of course, then off to home for some more work before you have your cupa' I think also Villa on the corner of soi2 sells beans. Both sell pre-packed as well

Thanks rubl....but its not beans to grind I am after....really want a coffeeshop to while away an hour in the morning.
Something akin to Monmouth coffee shop in Borough Market in London....if anyone has been they will know what I mean.

There is a bakery in the Korean Town complex, left side street level that serves a decent coffee I'm told. Near Soi 12 about 50 metres from the Times Square building.
Be warned the 2000 baht litter police sit right outside the mall, sort of fun sitting in the bakery watching them catch the tourists (I'm bad I know)

Best NO, around that area I'm stumped unless you venture into the Sofitel coffee shoppe - opppps litter coppers on that side of the street as well. I'll keep my eye open just for you In the meantime there is a 20 baht cart that does a nice ovaltine on ice in front of Pala pizza Heheheh

Most coffee in Thailand is too acidic. I started noticing this after having breathing problems and being diagnosed with silent reflux. Thai coffee gets big thumbs down from me. The only one I can remotely drink and I used to avoid the chain like plague is Starbucks. McDonald's coffee is the worst which is the exact opposite from Canada.

McDonald's coffee is actually quite good.

Have you tried to this newish "ice coffee" that seems to be the latest fad in Bangkok's society? The coffee is in the ice cube?

You fellow me lads haven't lived. I and a good many others too in England cut our teeth on the product below in the 1950's. Mind you ''Camp'' did have a very different connotation then as compared to now.
