Have you tried to this newish "ice coffee" that seems to be the latest fad in Bangkok's society? The coffee is in the ice cube? Yep, the cubes are the frozen coffee. If you try to make this, I think it's best to microwave the cubes for a few seconds or let them sit outside for a while. Otherwise it'll not be drinkable for ages if they are frozen solid.

A bit far out, but the ISS crew members now have what is called an ISSpresso machine and specially designed space cups. With the ISSpresso machine the astronauts can brew their cupa using specially recycled ISSwater

I just want a cappuccino...to sit outside in a nice spot...and maybe a great pastry....surely it can't be that hard?
No ice frappuccinos with vanilla oil or strawberry smoothies!

There used to be a place near Khao San...by the river....small park with a memorial in the centre just along the street...they had great coffee and cakes...I think it changed ownership though.

No one wants to reveal their hidden gems... There is a lovely coffee quiet garden-esque coffee shop/restaurant Soi 22/2 (1.6kms from Asoke) www.facebook.com/pages/Gastro16/162938943751545?fref=tsSoi 16, Walk past foodland and there are two okay looking coffee shops, with outside seating. Same side of road. Exchange tower. The coffee shop coming from the skywalk on the left hand side as you enter (opposite True coffee) was popular every day. (not the True cafe...opposite that). No outdoor seating Downstairs in Exchange tower the Starbucks has outdoor seating.

Asoke area?
For price, convenience and people watching, you cannot beat the world class tried and true performance of 711.
Select yourself an ice cold coffee or a 3in1 (road tested and perfected in laboratories through rigorous blind testing, the highest standard of perfection has been achieved over many many years;the mix of sugar, milk, coffee flavors just right for the discerning palate is just right)
Drink it in shop and it is free. I do this 3 times a day. Any 711 which is busy and frequented by farangs you can get away with this. They don't care. We all look alike. They hardly notice us.
if you MUST pay for your coffee, okay. The good news is, nearly all 711s have modern simplistic seating available right outside their front door!!
Light up a cigarette and watch the world go by as you sip your caffeinated brew.
Soi 19, next to T21 has a 711 just waiting for you.

My gf has an Elite card thing for True....they have a shop in Central...through the back they serve coffee for free in the lounge....you could just walk in anytime tho!

You fellow me lads haven't lived. I and a good many others too in England cut our teeth on the product below in the 1950's. Mind you ''Camp'' did have a very different connotation then as compared to now. Dunno, that guy looks camp to me What about BEV that was also good and around at the same time.

BEV !!! Forgot all about that brand thanks for the memory jog. Seems as it was a more popular brand in South Africa in later years.

Coffeechicory as in 'no coffee, only chicory' was used as substitute for coffee in the Netherlands at times real coffee was scarce and/or expensive (Napoleonic Wars, during WWII) but got out of use at around the time coffee was no longer rationed (+/- 1955). Because chicory tends to be a wee bit bitter 'caramelised sugar' or molasse (in Holland the famous brand 'Buisman') was added for a darker colour and to counter the bitter taste. I've never drank a cup of coffeechicory or just chicory. Mind you, I'm wondering about the 'instant coffee' Khao Shong and Red Cap here in Thailand. Probably because I like my coffee without sugar
