This is good gossip, met this chap a couple of times, he recently also bought the South China Morning Post.
Weird and great sense of humour besides being filthy rich. Jack Ma is hardly a buttoned-up executive. He has sung “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?” while wearing a blond wig, a black leather jacket and lipstick. He has compared himself to the movie character ET. He likes to refer to himself in the third person. He held a three-hour performance/party to commemorate stepping down from his CEO role last year. Basically, he’s a big deal and he knows it.

AC Milan targeted for takeover by China's richest man, Jack Ma. The Italian giants are subject of a €700million bid from a Chinese group led by Ma.
China's richest man, Jack Ma, is understood to be leading a takeover of ailing Italian giants AC Milan. Ma, who founded online retail giant Alibaba and co-owns Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande, is leading a consortium hoping to buy the San Siro club from former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi.
Ma is worth an estimated US$25billion, with his Alibaba group owning Weibo, China's largest social network, as well as a raft of leading retail and e-commerce brands. The investment deal, which has been brokered by an Italian-American banking group, would see Ma and his co-investors buying 70% of the club immediately before completing a full takeover inside 12 months. The decision now rests with Berlusconi, who is expected to meet the prospective investors soon.
Italian football has made concerted efforts to expand in Asia, even holding the season-opening Supercoppa in Shanghai last August, while Milan boast Japanese icon Keisuke Honda on their playing staff. Guangzhou Evergrande manager Marcello Lippi has been linked with a return to the Peninsula to head up Milan's sporting operations.
